Wormstop is a medication used to treat parasitic infections caused by worms. It contains the active ingredient Albendazole, which works by interfering with the energy metabolism of the worms and ultimately killing them.

Dosage and usage information:

The dosage of Wormstop depends on the type of parasitic infection being treated and the patient’s age and weight. It is important to follow the dosage instructions provided by your healthcare provider or pharmacist.

The recommended dosage for adults and children over 2 years of age for the treatment of intestinal worms such as tapeworm, roundworm, and hookworm is a single dose of 400mg (4 tablets of 100mg). This can be repeated after 2 weeks if necessary.

For the treatment of neurocysticercosis (a parasitic infection of the brain), the recommended dosage is 15mg/kg body weight per day, divided into two doses, for 8 to 30 days.

For hydatid disease (a parasitic infection caused by tapeworm larvae), the recommended dosage is 10mg/kg body weight per day, divided into two doses, for 28 days.

Wormstop tablets should be taken with food to increase its absorption in the body. It is usually taken as a single dose, but in some cases, it may be prescribed for multiple days.

It is important to take the medication exactly as prescribed by your healthcare provider. Do not take more or less than the prescribed dosage, and do not stop taking the medication before the prescribed duration, even if the symptoms have improved. Possible side effects of Wormstop include nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, headache, dizziness, and skin rash. In rare cases, it may cause more serious side effects such as liver damage or a decrease in white blood cells.
